Suspect Who Threatened Carver Elementary School Arrested

Kelvin Nix, 37 was arrested last night in Flowood, MS, and booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Facility this morning at 1:36 am. Nix has been charged with Making Terroristic Threats to a school , he was taken into custody without incident. Nix Bond has been set at $100,000.

MBI, Mississippi Homeland Security, and MPSD campus Police investigated the threat. The Meridian Police Department assisted MPSD PD at the scene to evacuate the buildings and safely transfer the kids to another location.
