Sheriff Eric Clark of Neshoba County tell us that on Friday, February 24, 2023, Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office and Philadelphia Police Department jointly took down a local methamphetamine distributor. At around 5:00 pm an off duty deputy sheriff observed what he believed to be a large drug transaction. Soon after Philadelphia Police Department executed a traffic stop on the vehicle. The investigation led officers back to room 130 at the Econo Lodge Hotel. A search warrant issued out of Neshoba County Justice Court allowed the officers to seize more than 1 pound of methamphetamine, approximately ½ pound of marijuana, $36,400 in cash, and a 2019 Ford F-450 work truck.
Two arrests were made during the investigation:
Jermie A. Tank, 245 Gatewood Drive, Cobert, GA 30628 and Angela G. Bryan, 1225 North Forest Avenue, Hartwell, GA 30643 were both charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Controlled Substance. These charges, if convicted hold penalties of not less than 25 years, without eligibility of parole, and range from $5,000 to $1,000,000 in fines. Both Tank and Bryan are being held in the Neshoba County Detention Center, awaiting an initial appearance with a judge. More charges are expected from this investigation.
