Neshoba County Overdose Leads To Drug Trafficking Charges

On Monday, June 3, 2024 at approximately 9:49 p.m. a call for service was requested at the residence of Bill Pike, 10250 Road 402 Philadelphia, MS, for a possible overdose. Upon arrival, deputies were met by Edith Welch. She stated that Mr. Pike had overdosed and a neighbor had rushed over and administered two doses of Narcan. EMS checked Mr. Pike out and transported him to Neshoba General Hospital.

 

While deputies were inside the home, they noticed several items in plain view: (1) blue metal container, (1) silver metal grinder, (1) silver metal pipe, (1) white package containing a green leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana, (1) clear baggie that contained a green leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana,  (1) clear baggie containing approximately 7 dosage units of what appeared to be Ecstasy and 3 dosage units of what appeared to be Xanax, and (1) black Rossi RS22 .22 Long Rifle and Scope.  

 

After being read her Miranda Rights, Ms. Welch cooperated with deputies and stated the items observed in plain view belong to Mr. Pike.  When asked if she had anything inside the room or on her person she disclosed she had a pipe on her side of the bed, methamphetamine inside the mirror drawer, and she had been given a large baggie by Mr. Pike prior to the deputies’ arrival. Ms. Welch pulled out a large clear baggie of a white crystal like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine with a total package weight of 14.98 grams from her back left pocket.

 

On, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 a local Justice Court Judge reviewed and signed the search warrant for Mr. Pike’s residence. Neshoba County deputies along with Union Police Department K9 officer searched the residence and found the following: (1) black bag containing zip lock bags with a white crystal like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine weighing approximately 286.00 grams, (1) female wallet containing one clear zip lock bag with a white crystal like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine weighing approximately 0.7 grams,  $9,000.00 in U.S. Currency, and (1) black bag containing a yellow bag, zip lock bag, and 6 clear baggies of a white crystal like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine weighing approximately 180.00 grams.

 

Billy Pike is being held at the Neshoba County Detention Center. He is charged with Aggravated Trafficking Schedule II Controlled Substance and Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Mr. Pike’s bond has been denied.



 

Edith Welch is being held at the Neshoba County Detention Center. She is charged with Aggravated Trafficking Schedule II Controlled Substance. Ms. Welch’s bond has been denied.
