The standoff at NAS Meridian ended around midnight as Police broke down the door to the room the suspect was reportedly in. Once inside the room was empty, the suspect had fled the scene before police arrived. The suspect had multiple cell phones and left one behind ,when NCIS pinged the phone it hit on the tower nearest the base showing he was still there.
Three eye witnesses saw the suspect run into the apartment and close the door a little after 10 am Wednesday. Sheriff Billy Sollie and deputies were staged on the scene to assist if needed throughout the conflict. The suspect is identified as 19 year old Derick Johnson, more to follow as this story develops.
Based on NCIS information late last night , authorities do not believe he is in the area. He is originally from Georgia.
