Update 4-8-22-
In reference to the attempted kidnapping at North East Park the Meridian Police Department took the claim seriously and acted quickly. After speaking with all parties involved and reviewing the city camera footage it was determined that the attempted kidnapping did not occur and was a misunderstanding between the mother and the other individual there.
MPD would like to thank the community assistance in getting information needed for this incident.
I've spoken to the person who owns the truck and he assured me this was a misunderstanding. He is speaking with police to get the matter straightened out.
