Last night at approximately 6:30 PM a deputy got out with unoccupied vehicle on Highway 45 near Causeyville Road. After running the license tag it was determined the vehicle had been stolen in Hinds County. Deputies searched the area in an effort to locate a suspect. Based on information from their investigation, it was determined that the driver may be at a restaurant on North Frontage Rd. Deputies and officers from the Meridian Police Department searched the area and located a suspect. The male provided false information as to his identity. He was then taken to the Lauderdale County Detention Facility where he was fingerprinted and held until his identity was determined. His name is Tyler Charles Payne. Payne recently escaped from the Choctaw County, Oklahoma jail. He is currently still being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Facility waiting for extradition to Oklahoma.
