Home Invasion/Attempted Rape in Clarke County
Sheriff Anthony Chancelor confirms the Clarke County Sheriff's Department has charged a man with attempted Rape and Home Invasion. Marcus Lynch was arrested Friday afternoon at 5:30 for 2 counts of home invasion and 1 count of attempted rape. The bond will be set on Monday, August 12 by the Clarke County Justice Court.
Lynch was arrested by Clarke County deputies while attempting to flee the scene. He went into one residence, and the homeowner pulled a gun on him so he took off. He immediately went and ran into a neighboring elderly lady's home and attempted to sexually assault her. She was able to put up enough fight to run him out. He was not connected to any of these people he tried to victimize.
Clarke County Deputies caught him down the road trying to flee the area, this took place in the Elwood community on CR. 1271.
