East Mississippi State Hospital Employee Charged With Murder of Patient

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating a Murder in Meridian, MS. The alleged murder took place at East Mississippi State Hospital located at 1818 College Dr, Meridian. On Friday, May 31st The Meridian Police Department and Metro responded to a call at the hospital. The patient was transferred to Jackson for medical care and died on Sunday. He has been identified as Christopher Hamilton, the cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy.

Keshawn Carpenter has been booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center with a murder charge. The bond has been set at $250,000. Carpenters' LinkedIn account lists East Mississippi State Hospital as his employer. The SR Report has reached out to East Mississippi State Hospital for a comment but the call has not been returned at this time. Sheriff Ward Calhoun confirms this was a Mississippi Bureau of Investigation arrest.
