Clayton Cobler, the coroner for Lauderdale County , confirms that the autopsy of an elderly woman reveals the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. This has been an ongoing investigation since her body was discovered on April 22nd at a developmentally challenged group home. Initial reports place her possibly dead in the facility for over a week, the victim has been identified as Carolyn Hardy.
The Meridian Police Department criminal investigation division has an active warrant for Shelia Powe for Manslaughter- Culpable Negligence. This is in relation to the elderly female that was found deceased on April 22, 2022 at 2248 44th Avenue.
