Arrest Made in Newton County Murder

Sheriff Joedy Pennington has arrested Qualee Fryer (09-23-02) and has been charged with the murder of Adrion Simmons (05-06-03).

The murder took place Friday night when an altercation led to the murder of a man on the reservation in Newton County. Choctaw Police were called to the 400 Block of Campus Drive overnight where they found a man who had been shot. The Choctaw Police Department determined that both parties were non-tribal members and the Newton County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene. The deceased man (Adrion Simmons ) is listed as a Georgia resident and the suspect is from Philadelphia, MS.
