Accidental Shooting at Meridian Training Facility. Sheriff Billy Sollie of Lauderdale County confirmed an officer with Laurel PD has been accidentally shot. During a training session at the Lauderdale County Training Facility an officer drew his gun from the holster and the firearm discharged. The bullet struck the officer in the leg, other officers quickly wrapped his leg and he was rushed to a local hospital. The injury is non life threatening.
