9 Arrested in Murder in Meridian

Meridian police have charged nine individuals for their involvement in a Jan. 23rd shooting that claimed the life of 30-year-old Sanchairus Overstreet.

Branderious McShan, 17, Jakobe Lee, 20, and Anton Lee, 24, each face a murder charge. The bond for each has been set at $1 million.

Jessie Halbert, 55, Andreika Terry, 27, Stacy Hughes, 48, Terry Walker, 52, Kentavious Walker,25, and Patsy Lee, 49, each face a charge of Accessory After the Fact. The bond for each has been set at $100,000.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, MPD received a 911 call about gunfire in the 300 Block of 45th Avenue. According to Acting Captain Dareall Thompson, officers arriving on the scene discovered a male subject who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The victim Overstreet, was pronounced dead on the scene, Thompson said.

“Our detectives, Gang Unit and Violent Crime Unit worked tirelessly on this case,” Thompson.
